SENIOR FLORIST,
CONTRACT TYPE: Full time, permanent
LOCATION: Battersea, London
WORKING HOURS: 3am on Monday’s. 3:00 – 9:00am start, Tuesday – Friday depending on business needs. A minimum of 10 Saturday’s per year

JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for a highly experienced florist to join the team at PAUL THOMAS. This role is of central importance to the company and is an exciting opportunity to work across all departments including ecommerce bouquets and events with a main focus on regular contracts. The right candidate will have the chance to play a key role in an experienced and fun team in a busy environment and will be given the opportunity to develop their skills.

This is a full time, hands-on role, that demands a flexible attitude to working days and hours to ensure that PAUL THOMAS continues to offer its clients the highest quality product and service.

Working closely with our Founder & Creative Director, Paul Thomas-Jeffreys and a team of master florists, the successful candidate will create and deliver truly extraordinary flowers.

DUTIES

  • Making, delivering and installing flowers in all areas of the business, overseen by Senior Management.
  • Supporting Contract managers on pulling vases, designing installations and making
  • Supporting the different areas of the business such as the shop and events where required
  • Supporting client requests as and when they come in
  • Ordering and buying flowers from the local flower market or online
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and clients
  • Support the Gifting Manager in replying to shop emails
  • Staying up to date with current design trends and sharing new techniques with the wider team when learnt
  • Make deliveries as and when needed to our London based clients 
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience within the floral and shop industry 
  • Must possess an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal  
  • Will possess a genuine passion for floristry and the energy to tackle every event, large or small, with enthusiasm  
  • Preferred but not essential – Will hold a full UK driving licence and be happy to drive vans on occasion  
  • The successful candidate should be happy with early starts and willing to work at the weekend as this is a necessity

JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for an experienced florist to join the Gifting team at PAUL THOMAS. This role will report into the Gifting Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of London’s leading florists, creating extraordinary bouquets & displays to fulfil our E-commerce orders and B2B gifting activations.

The successful candidate will work in creating and delivering exceptional floral designs for a multitude of HNW clients and London venues.

THE ROLE

  • Buy and manage inventory
  • Make bouquets or gift orders (from our web selection or bespoke)
  • Take orders over the phone, from walk-in customers and online clients
  • Make small scale events and weddings under instruction from the events team
  • Assist in the making of select weekly Contracts under instruction from the Contracts team
  • Support the Gifting Manager in booking deliveries with third party couriers
  • Support the Gifting Manager in replying to shop emails
  • Make deliveries as and when needed to our London based clients
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace

THE CANDIDATE

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience within the floral and shop industry

HEAD OF EVENTS
LOCATION: Battersea, London

JOB DESCRIPTION:
PAUL THOMAS is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Events to join our friendly team on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of London’s leading florists, managing events within the UK and internationally. As part of the management team, the successful candidate will work closely alongside Founder & Creative Director Paul Thomas-Jeffreys and lead the wider events team in creating and delivering exceptional floral designs for a multitude of HNW clients, top venues and leading events companies.

THE ROLE:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and managing enquiries, attending site visits, and conducting consultations in person or via phone/online.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and targeting potential clients including event and wedding planners, caterers, venues, hotels and corporates. Prior experience of this and having existing relationships with notable clients within the event industry is key.
  • Project managing tenders for the supply of flowers to top London venues
  • Designing concepts for each wedding or event according to the brief, and creating detailed and inspirational proposals to a high standard
  • Managing P&L for the Events department and working to client budgets whilst meeting the business’s target profit margins
  • Calculating the volumes of flowers and foliage required, then ordering and buying.
  • Complete event organisation and administration, from creating schedules and job sheets through to managing events onsite and ensuring they run smoothly and to schedule
  • Coordinating staffing and logistics for all events, including booking freelance florists and logistical support, additional vehicles, and submitting security details when required
  • Liaising with venues and event companies to ensure the team has all necessary information including PLI certification, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all clients, keeping in touch on a regular basis
  • Ensuring the impeccable standards and iconic Paul Thomas style are reflected in every event
  • Confidently leading the wider events team and develop skills within the team as the business grows.

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate:

  • Have at least 4 years’ experience within the floral and events industry.
  • Must possess an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Will be comfortable with taking responsibility for managing teams and projects
  • Will need to possess first class IT skills and understanding of Microsoft Office programmes, as a large part of this role will be creating proposals and visuals for our clients
  • Will possess a genuine passion for floristry and the energy to tackle every event, large or small, with enthusiasm
  • Will have a strong grasp of the commercial side of the floristry industry
  • Ideally, but not necessarily, the candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and be happy to drive vans on occasion

We’re looking for an experienced and diligent Warehouse Assistant to join our team at PAUL THOMAS. This role will report into the Operations Manager and is of central importance to the company. The right candidate will have the chance to play a key role in an experienced and fun team within a busy environment and will be given the opportunity to develop their skills.

This is a full time, hands-on operational role, that demands a flexible attitude to working days and hours to ensure that PAUL THOMAS continues to offer its clients the highest quality product and service.

The successful candidate will work closely with a team of florists to assist them with making, delivering and derigging floral installations whilst managing the warehouse in its day to day operations.

THE ROLE:

  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
  • Maintaining a well organised and tidy warehouse that caters to the needs of the business as a whole
  • Maintaining a well organised and tidy off-site storage space, in Sussex, that caters to the needs of the business as a whole
  • Developing and maintaining a stock tracker, in conjunction with the Operations Manager, for all Paul Thomas props vases and materials
  • Ordering and replacing all materials as and when required
  • Delivering and installing flower displays to VIP clients across London
  • Assisting florists on a day-to-day basis.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all clients
  • Assisting in other areas of the business as and when required
  • Helping to install large-scale arrangements, from floral arches to Christmas trees

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience within warehouse management
  • Be able to lift heavy objects
  • Must possess an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Will be interested in the florist industry and have the energy to tackle every event, large or small, with enthusiasm
  • Will understand the ethos that no task is too big or too small
  • The candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and be happy to drive vans on occasion

JOB ROLE:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join PAUL THOMAS. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing, and implementing strategies to grow the business, and establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and partners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for flowers and a deep understanding of networking and relationship building.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the business, including identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Create and present winning tenders and/or pitches to new and existing clients.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners, including wedding planners, event coordinators, and other businesses in the industry.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop marketing and sales plans to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that customer needs are met and that quality standards are maintained.
  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows to stay up to date on industry trends and new products.
  • Assist different department within the business during busy periods of the year or quiet times within the role.
  • Implement business development processes and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the flower industry or luxury landscape.

MARKETING MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing Strategy

  • Outline marketing strategy to meet business aims
  • Build and manage the marketing calendar
  • Implement overall creative messaging in line with the brand strategy
  • Act as brand guardian, adhering to the brand guidelines, monitoring usage internally & externally
  • Oversee and update all brand assets and touch points (website, social, comms, packaging, livery)

 Product Development 

  • Work alongside the design team in the creative direction of seasonal collections
  • Introduce the categories including homewares and accessories
  • Initiate, manage and promote creative collaborations

B2C Comms

  • Work with the Gifting Team to oversee the general website content and copy and manage the web agency
  • Plan and manage CRM via digital comms – e.g. Email newsletters

  • Advertising – secure/barter contra deals and oversee design and submission of ad artwork

Social Media

  • Build and continually evaluate the social media strategy

Content

  • Oversee production of all product imagery
  • Ideate and produce all seasonal campaign imagery and video assets

  • Secure event contra deals with marketing or PR value

THE CANDIDATE MUST
