A Christmas At The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel

A Christmas At The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel

Another festive season arrives and we are delighted to bring the wonder of Christmas to The Cadogan. As with every annual project, planning for the next season begins the moment one installation comes down. This year, our creative journey took us to Maison & Objet in September, where we handpicked the perfect finishing touches to make Christmas at The Cadogan truly special.

A wintry landscape transforms The Cadogan into a seasonal wonderland, perfectly complementing our seasonal tree in the Cadogan Lounge. This enchanting display invites both children and adults to marvel at its charm and uncover the hidden delights of a miniature winter forest. From hedgehogs nestled among the branches to reindeer peeking through the trees, every detail adds a touch of festive magic.
The hotel radiates holiday cheer, with an elegant white décor and festive bows that evoke the spirit of Christmas in every corner. With our team’s touch, The Cadogan welcomes guests to immerse themselves in the joy of the season, creating memories to treasure in its beautifully dressed halls.

As 2024 progressed, The Cadogan welcomed Russell Platt as their new General Manager, working closely with us on all plans for the hotel. Platt will oversee the growth and refinement of the hotel’s signature dining experiences and wellness offerings. Before joining Belmond, Platt held positions at several esteemed London hotels, including serving as director of events and groups at Claridge’s and director of food and beverage at The Dorchester.

We sat down with Russell in The Cadogan’s lounge to hear more about his favourite flowers and plans for the future.

What do flowers mean to you?
Beauty, growth, and the natural cycle of life. They represent emotions and sentiments, such as love, joy, and sympathy depending on the occasion.

Do you have a favourite cut flower and why?
My favourite cut flower is the rose. Roses are timeless and versatile, symbolising love and admiration. Their scent is beautiful and the variety of colours each carry different meanings, making them one of my favourites.

What’s your favourite Christmas decoration at The Cadogan Christmas this year?
The beautiful snowy installation inspired by a snow filled forest scene set in our warm and welcoming front hall. The addition of woodland animals throughout the hotel makes it truly enchanting for our guests!

What can guests expect for this festive season at The Cadogan?
There’s a variety of experiences at The Cadogan for the season: from enchanting Christmas lights and decorations throughout the hotel to Yuletide cocktails, Cadogan hot chocolate and mulled wine along with a festive-themed menu served in our bar and on our winter terrace. And not to be missed is the sumptuous festive afternoon tea created by Benoit Blin and The Cadogan pastry team – seasonally sourced!

What does 2025 hold for The Cadogan?
The Cadogan will continue its tradition of offering exceptional experiences, accommodations, and outstanding dining options to our guests, with a focus on offering an opportunity to enjoy the best of our location, including access to Cadogan Square Gardens, world class shopping and dining.
